The first museum I wish to visit in person is of course the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. I went as a very young child, probably barely 3 or 4 and my only memory of it was the Tyrannosaurus skeleton of course. I’ve always wanted to go again as an adult and now a history major so I can take in what all is on display.

My second museum is another Smithsonian related one the National Museum of African American History and Culture. As black history is being erased and denied in this country, I really wish to treasure it and see this museum before something happens to it. Some of my favorite classes I’ve taken are Emancipation and Civil Rights related topics I would love to see in person connecting details to a painful history that has yet to be fully corrected in this country.

My last museum has similar reasoning to my second, the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. When I took the course on Hitler’s Third Reich here at UCF, I got some of the most in-depth coverage on the rise and evolvement of antisemitism and hatred this world has ever scene. I truly worry about the future of the museum and wish to see it before something could happen to it you never know with our new president’s right-hand man doing a Sieg Heil at inauguration.
