Reflection 1

I chose Wix for the website to host my ePortfolio because it happens to be one of the most well-known sites. I look over at Squarespace as an alternative but wasn't too sure since I've only seen it be talked about for businesses. Along with this the Wix student discount was appealing for when it came to paying for the website. The tools provided by the website were also quick and easy to learn to use and set up. As comparison when I tried to see how Squarespace worked it wanted me to follow do an AI created setup for the site where on Wix I could start with a template and update and change it. With a template that appealed to me I modified it and made it accessible. For my design I have a section for my written works, and I will be going through eventually adding more than just this course’s work to it. I’m proud of almost all my written work I have done while attending University of Central Florida and have a central way I can share my work, which is quite a nice feature.

I think this assignment is an interesting and important one not just for this course but for my academic career as whole. Having an organized way people can view my written work, hear my thoughts, and see my academic achievements is a great way to advertise myself. For my website I wanted something simple. I very much hate websites that go overboard with graphics and colors. I very much enjoy minimalistic aesthetic and having very straight to the point design. I very much am proud of the design I have gone for but, I only have one issue with my entire site. I don’t have the best photo and went with my high school graduation head shot really needed to get a nice new one done with better lighting that isn’t so warm.
